The Wisconsin Veterans Day Parade brings hundreds of participants through the streets of Wauwatosa while thousands of spectators celebrate the service and sacrifice of Wisconsin’s military veterans, service members, and their families.

PURPOSE

To celebrate the service and sacrifice of Wisconsin’s military veterans, service members, and their families.

THEME

The theme for Veterans Day is “Awareness.” Raising awareness for veterans is essential to ensuring that those who served receive the support, respect, and resources they earned. Transitioning from military to civilian life often presents profound challenges, including navigating complex healthcare systems, addressing invisible wounds like PTSD, and finding stable employment. By actively elevating veterans' voices and stories, communities can better understand these unique sacrifices and advocate for critical advancements in mental health care, housing security, and career transition programs. True awareness goes beyond standard holiday recognition; it requires a sustained, everyday commitment to honoring our veterans through actionable community support, policy advocacy, and dedicated resources that guarantee no service member is left behind.

PARTICIPANTS

The parade features groups representing veterans of all eras, military units, civic and youth groups (including Junior ROTC), businesses, and more. Floats, military and vintage vehicles and other special elements add to the spectacle and excitement.
